Porch Light Pages Book Club

Porch Light Pages is The Brownstone Magazine’s monthly book club dedicated to centering the voices, stories, and brilliance of Black women authors. Each month, we gather around a shared read written by a Black woman, grounded in a rotating theme that sparks reflection, conversation, and connection.

Inspired by the porch light as a symbol of warmth, safety, and community, Porch Light Pages creates space for thoughtful discussion and collective storytelling. Members meet once a month to unpack the book’s themes, characters, and cultural impact in a welcoming, intimate setting.
Following each discussion, a Brownstone writer crafts a written synopsis and reflection, capturing the heart of the conversation and extending it beyond the room. These pieces live on as part of our ongoing archive—honoring the stories we read and the voices we uplift.
Whether you’re an avid reader or simply looking for community, Porch Light Pages invites you to slow down, turn the porch light on, and read together.
